The Scientists Machine
The project brief for The Scientists Machine was to design a level that would incorporate a main piece provided to us, that piece being the scientists room. We were allowed the freedom to design the level however we chose, however, all textures and assets had to be made by ourselves.
I wanted the level that I designed to have a horror vibe, thus running with that I drew my inspiration predominantly from the Dead Space series and Alien Isolation.
I chose to design a space station that was located just on the outside of Mars's atmosphere. The storyline for this project is that in 2030 NASA decided to send the first humans to Mars. What was unknown by the individuals being sent was that “they” would also have another station located in the outer atmosphere of Mars, this station was to be used to conduct scientific experiments using convicted criminals as their human guinea pigs.
All models were made in Maya and then exported in FBX for UE4. Textures were either made or altered by myself using Photoshop.
